Sustainable Places 2025, held in Milan (Italy), focused on advancing digital and data-driven approaches for transforming Europe’s built environment, with circular construction and smarter building management among the key themes discussed throughout the event.
As part of the conference programme, DATAWiSE project contributed to the joint workshop “Supporting circular construction through data-driven solutions.” During the session, Ioannis Karvelas from SingularLogic shared insights related to the project’s work and its role in developing data-driven approaches for improving building performance and supporting more efficient construction practices.
The workshop brought together several Horizon Europe initiatives – including RECONMATIC, INBLANC, WILSON and DeCO2 – to explore how digital tools, data spaces and advanced analytics can support the transition towards circular, efficient and future-ready construction.
Discussions highlighted the growing importance of data-driven technologies in enabling smarter building systems, improving resource efficiency and supporting the digital transformation of the construction sector.
Beyond the workshop session, Sustainable Places 2025 offered a valuable opportunity to connect with projects and experts working on similar challenges, exchanging perspectives on how digital tools and data-driven services can accelerate the transition towards circular and more efficient construction.
