Datawise Project

PRO-VE 2025

DATAWiSE project was featured at the PRO-VE 2025 conference held in Porto (Portugal), where discussions focused on the growing role of digital technologies and collaborative innovation in shaping the future of intelligent systems and urban environments.

During the Projects Forum session, Manuel Ángel Juárez Varón from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) contributed to the programme by highlighting how artificial intelligence and predictive maintenance approaches are transforming the way buildings are managed and maintained.

The presentation explored the potential of AI-powered predictive maintenance (PdM) and interoperable digital systems to improve building performance and operational efficiency. Particular attention was given to real-time data insights, collaborative BIM environments and scalable integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and IoT infrastructures, enabling smarter decision-making and extending the lifecycle of buildings.

The forum also created an opportunity to introduce our project to a wider European research and innovation community and to exchange perspectives with other initiatives addressing related challenges. Among the projects contributing to the session were PRIN 4.0 (University of Siena, Italy), EMOTION (Fraunhofer Institute, Germany) and 4InnoPipe2 (Kozminski University, Poland).

Held under the theme “Hybrid Human-AI Collaborative Networks,” the conference provided a valuable setting to explore how digital innovation and human expertise can work together to support the development of more intelligent and connected urban ecosystems.
