Datawise Project

Data-Driven Climate for Change

Buildings have an important role to play in the transition towards a more climate-resilient and energy-efficient built environment. While they generate vast amounts of operational data, its real value lies in how that information is understood and used to support better decisions.

When transformed into actionable knowledge, building data can help improve energy performance, inform renovation strategies, reduce emissions and contribute to healthier and more resilient buildings. At the same time, evolving European policies are placing greater emphasis on digitalisation, interoperability and the ability to use building information more effectively.

These connections are explored in a new DATAWiSE blog prepared by colleagues from Arthur’s Legal, Strategies & Systems (ARTHUR). The article looks at how European policy developments, interoperable data and intelligent building management are increasingly coming together, and what this means for the future of the built environment.

The blog also places DATAWiSE within this broader context, examining how the project aims to transform available information into practical intelligence that can support building owners, public authorities, energy providers and local communities.

By connecting climate ambitions with the everyday decisions that shape how buildings are managed and improved, the article highlights an important principle behind the DATAWiSE approach: collecting more data is not the goal – making better use of it is.
